The main benefit thought to be from taking Vitamin C supplements include, protection against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease and lessening the duration and severity of upper respiratory tract infections. This type of Vitamin C is derived from fermented sorbitol.

Serving Suggestion

Vitamin C is considered non-toxic therefore even in extremely high doses negative side effects rarely if ever occur. If there was to be any side effect it would generally consist of mild symptoms such as, diarrhea or an upset stomach. If any of these effects do occur lower dosage. You should consult a doctor prior to taking Vitamin C if you have any kind of copper deficiency or condition that causes iron deposits to form in the body. This is because if Vitamin C is taken in too higher dose it can possibly cause reduction of coper levels in the body and stimulate the absorption of iron. Pregnant women should not be exceeding 60mg of Vitamin C daily, due to the risk of the child developing scurvy in the womb.
